The client manufactures a wide variety of glasses, and mind you, tons of them every day.  Tracking the glasses from procurement to disposal was a daunting task, as it was performed manually and updated in the backend. Tracking missing or damaged glasses during a project, and movement of glasses from one project zone to another was especially backbreaking, and cumbersome.

It increased production cost and total cost of ownership for the client. The client wanted a state-of-the-art web application to digitize asset tracking and administer the users or workers in the manufacturing plant. Our solution: 

As a 16-year-old mobile app development company, our experience of working with different clients in Chennai and India helped us understand the requirements of the client and envision the right solution quickly. Our Android app developers started by developing the Android application (coupled with NFC reader) for product traceability. The app enabled staff to keep a check on work in progress of products under manufacturing. 

We used RFID tags in the glasses to track them and utilized beacons to track the glass materials in transit from one project zone to another.
